0. Ethos
ZEEF exists to help people find better information.
The internet contains an overwhelming amount of content. Search engines rank, social platforms amplify, and algorithms optimize for engagement. ZEEF takes a different approach.
ZEEF is built on the principle that people — not just machines — can help filter information.
Users organize, curate, and structure knowledge into accessible overviews. Multiple perspectives can exist side by side. No single view is absolute.
ZEEF does not claim to define truth. It provides the tools for people to explore, compare, and form their own understanding.
By using ZEEF, you participate in a system where responsibility, transparency, and contribution are shared.
1. Introduction and Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User") and Kizito B.V., operating as ZEEF ("ZEEF," "we," "us," or "our").
These Terms govern your access to and use of the ZEEF platform, including all websites, applications, APIs, and curation tools (the "Services").
By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and the documents incorporated within them, including:
- the Privacy Policy
- the Publisher Agreement (for Creators)
- the Content Guidelines
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Services after such updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
TL;DR (Core Principles)
- Public by default: Content you publish may be publicly visible and may be indexed or processed by search engines, AI systems, crawlers, archives, and other third parties.
- You own your content: You grant ZEEF a license to operate and improve the platform.
- Human + system: Content is curated by people and supported by algorithms.
- Free & paid: ZEEF is free for curators and is supported by paid company pages.
- Integrity matters: Abuse, scraping, and manipulation are prohibited.
2. Eligibility and Account Security
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Services, or older where required by local law.
You agree to provide accurate and complete information. Impersonation or misrepresentation is not permitted.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must notify us of any unauthorized access.
If you act on behalf of an entity, you confirm you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
3. The ZEEF Service
ZEEF provides a structured environment for organizing and discovering information.
3.1 Free Tier
ZEEF is free to use for curators and personal accounts. The platform is currently supported by paid business subscriptions (see 3.2).
Curators may include their own affiliate, sponsored, or paid client links in their pages. The curator must declare every paid or compensated link as such using the disclosure feature in the editor. This declaration discloses the paid relationship both to ZEEF (in the system) and — through a visible label — to visitors of the page (see Section 5.6). Any commissions from these links accrue to the curator, not to ZEEF.
3.2 Business Subscription (company pages)
Businesses and organizations pay a subscription to publish a company page. This revenue supports free use of the platform by curators. The sales, billing, cancellation, and refund terms for company pages are set out in Section 7.
3.3 Future Revenue Sources
ZEEF may introduce additional revenue sources in the future. The following features are not active at this time:
- advertising from third-party advertising providers
- affiliate tags added by ZEEF to outbound links, from which ZEEF may receive commissions
- a paid PRO subscription that removes advertising and such modifications within the user environment
We will update these Terms before introducing any such features.
4. Content Ownership and Licensing
4.1 Ownership
You retain ownership of content you create ("Your Content").
4.2 License to ZEEF
You grant ZEEF a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, host, store, reproduce, modify, display, distribute, index, analyze, and make Your Content available for the purpose of operating, securing, moderating, improving, and promoting the Services.
For public content, this includes making the content and related public metadata available to visitors, search engines, AI crawlers, archiving services, browsers, and other third-party systems that access publicly available web pages.
4.3 Public Indexing, AI Systems, and Machine Learning
By publishing content or making a page public on ZEEF, you understand and agree that the content and related public metadata may be publicly accessible and may be indexed, cached, analyzed, summarized, quoted, linked to, or otherwise processed by search engines, AI systems, crawlers, archiving services, and other third parties.
ZEEF may use public content to improve its own systems, including search, discovery, moderation, ranking, security, analytics, AI-assisted features, and machine learning. This may include analysis, training, and optimization.
Drafts, private previews, pending pages, and pages explicitly marked as private are not intended to be publicly indexed. ZEEF may later offer additional controls to opt out of certain public indexing or AI-related uses, but such controls cannot remove content already accessed or processed by third parties.
4.4 Technical Adaptation
ZEEF may modify content as necessary to ensure compatibility across devices, formats, and systems.
4.5 Content Removal, Portability & Persistence
You may delete your content at any time. Removed content will no longer be publicly visible within a reasonable timeframe.
Residual data may remain temporarily in backups or technical systems.
Content indexed by third parties may remain outside ZEEF's control.
Content previously used in machine learning systems may not be fully removable from those systems. ZEEF will not use deleted content for future training where reasonably possible.
ZEEF may offer export tools, but does not guarantee compatibility.
Public content may have been copied or shared by others outside ZEEF.
ZEEF may retain content where required for legal, operational, or security reasons.
5. Acceptable Use and Platform Integrity
5.1 Prohibited Conduct
You may not:
- scrape or crawl the platform without permission
- manipulate systems, including AI systems
- infringe intellectual property rights
- misuse reporting or moderation tools
- link to content or websites that are illegal, infringing, fraudulent, deceptive, harmful, or otherwise prohibited under applicable law
5.2 System Abuse and Damages
Unauthorized large-scale access (over 1,000,000 requests per 24 hours) may result in liability of €20,000 per 1,000,000 requests, in addition to other remedies.
5.3 Curation & Ranking Transparency
ZEEF combines human curation with algorithmic support.
Content is selected and organized by users ("Curators"). Rankings may also be influenced by automated systems.
Rankings are not guaranteed to be objective, neutral, or complete.
Commercial relationships may influence placement. Where required, disclosures will be made.
ZEEF may adjust or remove rankings or visibility to maintain platform integrity.
5.4 Curator Roles & Reputation
Users may act as Curators.
Curators define their own expertise unless explicitly verified.
ZEEF may use signals such as engagement, activity, and quality to determine visibility or reputation.
ZEEF does not guarantee status, reach, or ranking.
ZEEF may restrict or remove curator privileges where necessary.
Pages may include contributions from multiple curators and may be restructured.
5.5 Content Responsibility & Editorial Model
Users are responsible for their content.
ZEEF provides infrastructure, not editorial verification.
Structured presentation does not imply endorsement.
ZEEF may moderate content when required but is not obligated to monitor all content.
ZEEF does not provide professional advice.
ZEEF is not responsible for third-party content or links.
ZEEF will respond to valid legal takedown requests.
5.6 Paid Link Disclosure
Curators must disclose to ZEEF any paid link placements on their ZEEF pages. This applies to all forms of compensation — including direct payments, sponsorships, barter arrangements, or any other consideration — regardless of whether the payment was made through the ZEEF platform or arranged directly between the curator and a third party.
Disclosure must be made to ZEEF via the designated feature in the platform. This declaration not only discloses the paid nature of the link to ZEEF, but is also shown as a visible disclosure to visitors of the page. Until such feature is available, curators must notify ZEEF by email at info@zeef.com.
When a curator marks a link as a sponsored, affiliate, or client placement, ZEEF automatically adds a rel="nofollow" attribute to that link. This is applied by the system and cannot be changed by the curator. Search engines may interpret link attributes according to their own policies. Applying this attribute does not relieve curators of their responsibility to disclose paid relationships accurately, nor of any disclosure obligations imposed by their affiliate or sponsorship programs.
Curators who proactively and truthfully disclose paid links will never be penalized for the disclosure itself. ZEEF encourages transparency and will work with curators to ensure proper labeling.
Failure to disclose paid links constitutes a violation of these Terms. In such cases, ZEEF is entitled to a contractual penalty of €500 per undisclosed paid link, without prejudice to ZEEF's right to claim additional damages. ZEEF may also remove the affected content, revoke curator privileges, or terminate the account.
This obligation exists to maintain transparency and trust within the ZEEF ecosystem, and to comply with applicable advertising and consumer protection regulations.
5.7 External Links and Linked Content
ZEEF is a link-curation platform. Curators are responsible for the external websites and content they link to. ZEEF cannot pre-verify all linked destinations and does not endorse or take responsibility for the content, availability, or legality of external websites.
ZEEF maintains zero tolerance for links to content involving child sexual abuse material (CSAM), malware, or sites that facilitate serious criminal activity. Such links will be removed immediately and may result in account termination and referral to relevant authorities.
ZEEF reserves the right to remove any link at any time, without prior notice, if it determines — in its sole discretion — that the linked destination violates these Terms or applicable law. ZEEF is not obligated to proactively monitor all links, but will act on valid reports and legal requests.
To report a link to illegal or harmful content, contact ZEEF at info@zeef.com or use the report function on the platform. ZEEF will respond to valid requests in accordance with applicable law, including the Digital Services Act (DSA).
Users access external links at their own risk. ZEEF is not liable for any damage, loss, or harm arising from visiting external websites linked on the platform.
6. Creator Monetization
Creators may offer paid content or subscriptions.
Payments are handled by third-party providers such as Stripe.
Creators are responsible for pricing, delivery, and customer relationships.
ZEEF acts as Data Controller for platform data and Data Processor for creator-managed data.
ZEEF is not responsible for disputes between creators and users.
Accounts may be terminated where financial or legal risk arises.
7. Paid Company Pages — Sales, Billing, Cancellation, and Refunds
This section applies to paid subscriptions for company pages. The other provisions of these Terms continue to apply alongside this section.
7.1 Business Customers Only (B2B)
Company page subscriptions are offered exclusively to business customers acting in the course of a profession or business. By taking out a subscription, you declare that you act on behalf of a business, that you purchase this subscription for business purposes, and that you provide accurate and complete business details, including the legal company name and a valid Chamber of Commerce (KvK) or VAT number (or a foreign equivalent).
ZEEF may rely on this declaration and these details and is not required to independently verify the business capacity of the customer.
Consumers cannot take out a company page subscription. If it is nevertheless established that a customer acted as a consumer, the right of withdrawal described in Section 7.6 applies.
7.2 What the Subscription Provides (No Publication Guarantee)
A paid subscription provides the ability to display a company page publicly, provided the page meets the publication requirements. These include a minimum amount of relevant content (for company pages, at least seven relevant links), quality and moderation rules, and rules on ownership, deception, impersonation, and uniqueness.
Payment does not guarantee publication. A page may not be, or may cease to be, public even after payment. This can happen for two distinct kinds of reasons: (a) reasons within ZEEF's assessment or sphere of risk — such as a moderation decision, an administrative restriction imposed by ZEEF, or a decision regarding ownership, uniqueness, or a justified objection; or (b) a choice you make yourself — such as pausing, unpublishing, or archiving the page from your own dashboard. Refund treatment differs between the two cases; see Section 7.5.
7.3 Price, Billing, and Renewal
The subscription is a recurring subscription paid in advance per period, at the price and billing period (monthly or annual) shown on the order page at the time of purchase. Payments are processed by our payment service provider (Stripe).
Unless you cancel in time, the subscription automatically renews at the end of each period for an equal period: a monthly subscription by one month at a time, an annual subscription by one year at a time. Renewal takes place at the rate then in effect.
ZEEF may change the price for a subsequent period. A price change is announced at least 30 days before renewal, by email (and, where applicable, additionally shown within the platform). You may cancel before the renewal date if you do not agree to the new price; continuing the subscription after the announced effective date constitutes acceptance of the new price.
Any discounts, such as an introductory discount for early adopters, apply only to the stated period. After that, the subscription renews at the regular rate, which is disclosed in advance.
Prices stated are exclusive of VAT, unless stated otherwise. Where applicable, VAT is reverse-charged to the business customer on the basis of a valid VAT number.
7.4 Cancellation
You may cancel the subscription at any time yourself via the customer portal ("Manage billing"); this is the direct channel and the cancellation request is processed immediately. An unambiguous cancellation by email to info@zeef.com also counts as a cancellation. You are responsible for cancelling in time before the renewal date; keep your confirmation.
A cancellation takes effect at the end of the current, already-paid period; the company page remains accessible until then and is taken offline afterwards.
Amounts already paid for the current period are not refunded on a pro-rata basis upon cancellation, except to the extent these Terms or mandatory law provide otherwise.
7.5 Refunds
If ZEEF cannot, or can no longer, publish the page for a reason within ZEEF's assessment or sphere of risk (such as moderation, an administrative restriction imposed by ZEEF, ownership, or uniqueness), after the page meets the minimum publication requirements, we will inform you stating the reason and give you the opportunity to amend the page, for which you will have at least 14 days. If public placement still cannot be achieved afterwards, we will cancel the subscription and fully refund the amount paid for the current period, unless you opt for another permitted solution.
If the page is not public because of a choice you make yourself — such as pausing, unpublishing, or archiving it from your dashboard — this is not a failure by ZEEF to deliver. The subscription continues, the paid functionality remains available, and no refund is due. You can make the page public again at any time within the paid period.
If the page does not meet the previously known minimum publication requirements, or you do not respond within 30 days to a request to remedy, there is no right to an automatic refund; the subscription continues for as long as the dashboard and the paid functionality remain available.
If you cancel yourself, no pro-rata refund of the current period is provided.
ZEEF does not charge administrative fees on refunds. In customer-driven cases where a refund is nevertheless granted, ZEEF may withhold demonstrable, non-refundable external payment costs (such as the payment provider's transaction fees), to the extent this is clearly stated in advance and reasonable.
7.6 Right of Withdrawal (Consumers)
Because company page subscriptions are offered exclusively on a business basis, the statutory consumer right of withdrawal (14-day cooling-off period) does not, in principle, apply.
If it is nevertheless established that you acted as a consumer, you have the right to withdraw from the agreement within 14 days of entering into it, without giving a reason. You can report this via info@zeef.com. If you expressly requested us to start the service during the cooling-off period, you owe a proportionate amount for the part already delivered; if the service (publication) only starts after the cooling-off period, no compensation is due upon withdrawal.
7.7 Data Export and Switching
You can export the data you entered on the company page (such as links and categories) at any time via the export function in the platform. ZEEF will make reasonable efforts to support switching and data portability, in line with applicable law.
8. Disclaimers and Liability
8.1 No Warranty
Services are provided "as is" and "as available".
8.2 Limitation of Liability
ZEEF's liability is limited to €100 or fees paid in the last 12 months. ZEEF is not liable for indirect or consequential damages.
8.3 Indemnification
You agree to indemnify ZEEF against claims arising from your use or violation of these Terms.
8.4 AI Features and Third-Party AI Providers
Certain features of the Service use artificial intelligence technology provided by third-party AI model providers, such as Anthropic and OpenAI ("AI Providers"). ZEEF does not control the availability, quality, or continuity of these AI Providers' services. AI features are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis and may be temporarily or permanently unavailable due to planned maintenance, failures, or changes by an AI Provider or factors beyond ZEEF's reasonable control. ZEEF accepts no liability for damages arising from unavailability of AI features, AI-generated output, or interruptions caused by AI Providers. Unavailability of AI features does not entitle users to any refund, credit, or compensation. ZEEF will make commercially reasonable efforts to keep AI features available and reserves the right to switch to alternative AI Providers when necessary. Users will be informed of material changes to AI Providers.
9. Termination and Legal Framework
You may terminate your account at any time.
ZEEF may terminate inactive accounts (6+ months).
These Terms and any agreement concluded under them are governed exclusively by Dutch law; the applicability of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) is excluded.
Disputes are submitted exclusively to the competent court in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, unless mandatory law (such as consumer protection) designates another competent court.
ZEEF complies with the Digital Services Act (DSA).
